So....basically.

So.....life has pretty much sped up around here....and I haven't been able to update as often(don't know if you've noticed)
I have an entry about when I dyed my hair....buuuut I'm lazy.
Basically....this week has consisted of...
getting some last minute stuff before I leave for THE SOUTH TOUR!!!111!!exclamationpoint!!1one!!
I leave this Friday...at 6 am!!!gaaaaaaaah. But. whatev. I have orientation(with a Spanish test, presentation and talent show) until Sunday, and then I leave for the South. Where, in the south....we don't know. Because we haven't been informed(hurrah!)
anyhoo. The other day....I had the greatest gringo experience of my life. Maureen and I were out in centro, and stopped for some ice cream, where we then pounced! on two gringos. A girl from Australia, and a guy from Japan. We wandered around with them for a bit....and then went to the Japanese Park in La Serena. Best experience ever. Most def. We got him to stand on a rock and scream in Japanese....he bowed to people....tried to karate attack a boy on a bridge...omg. hilarious. Guess you had to be there...but still. He wrote my name in Japanese...and we all exchanged emails and were off.
Got my bellydancing....er, bra? today for the talent show. Hurrah!
Also. Uploading videos onto my youtube tonight. I'll put one up here...with some pictures...with the furby Brittany sent me for x-mas! hurrah!

Maureen sent me some pictures today...from the waaaaay beginning of the exchange, so instead of updating you on how my Chilean summer's going(we went to the Valle today and swam and I took sun and will be tan! Hurrah!), I figured I'd post some pictures....just for fun. It's also pretty interesting to see how much I've changed in as little as 5 months. Craziness.
In other news....I'll be contacting Bokof Kaplan extremely soon....so I'll have a going home date(noooooooo) soon. Gahhhhhh.

This is post numero 77! Hoowah!

Hey...just stopping by to tell you I'm still alive, I suppose. Nothing too exciting has been happening lately....belly dancing yesterday, frantic-ness over paying for the south tour. Hanging out with Mauricio and his friends. Hanging out with Freja. She slept over last night, it was a good time.
Today is five months in La Serena though! Hurrah! All the exchangers here are going out tomorrow for a celebratory pizza. hehe!
I redecorated my blazer last night....adding my trenza, which tragically fell out one night while I was sleeping, so.....being the creepy exchange student I am, I put it on my blazer, haha. I'm currently looking for a small-ish Chilean flag to sew on the back....a Chilean flag patch for the other shoulder, and a Chilean license plate. I'm determined to have a bakan Rotary blazer....it's a New Year's Resolution of mine....and Freja and I will most certainly do it. Hurrah! anyhoo. My New Year's Eve.

Oh, New Year's Eve.
Had a dinner with the family.....then changed into jeans and off we went to Coquimbo to watch fireworks on the beach. Didn't bring my camera though because I was going right out afterwards with Mauricio, so I figured it'd be easier without it. I'll scan the pictures Ele took once she develops them.
Anyhoo. 'Twas fun.....at midnight we all hugged and said "¡Feliz Año Nuevo!" and such. Mamá and Ele went crazy with the hats and masks and noise makers....they were jumping up and down, waving to the cars driving by(which all honked and such). It was a good time.....fireworks were everywhere....and over the water, it was way nice.
Mauricio and I walked to the Casino, where we were supposed to meet a friend of his to go to a party, but that didn't happen. Instead, we met up with some of his other friends and hung out on the beach....then went to walk somewhere, but by the time we got close we were hungry and it was late(we walked for a few hours). It was crazy.....there were drunk people everywhere, stopping and wishing us a happy new year....there were bottles and trash EVERYWHERE on the beach...and the police were everywhere, but weren't doing anything about it at all, just watching. I think it's illegal to be drinking like that in public, but Mauricio said they weren't going to do anything because it was New Years. Craziness.
One of Mauricio's friends called....but he didn't want to talk to him, so I got to answer the phone and pretend I didn't understand anything....it was entertaining, and got the friend to stop calling, haha. Gringas are so useful.
And that is essentially my new years eve. It wasn't the best ever. But it was fun. I enjoyed it for the most part, especially seeing mamá so crazy-like, haha.
